Rome

This past spring I went to Rome for a month to draw. It was of course an entirely different prospect to drawing in the vast landscape of southern Utah. I was surrounded by people and traffic and sirens blaring, though it was surprising how peaceful the early mornings could be. It was a good drawing exercise as well, as figures especially are much less forgiving than rocks. And old Rome's buildings are so beautifully colored, all variations of creams, ochres, peaches and rose. It is a city of wonderful surprises. I hope you enjoy the results.
